Polar Bear Race 2003

Let me quote from the January newsletter: "The Polar Bear Race of 2003 was terrific . The temperature was 4 to 5 degrees Celcius , sunny and a wind blowing from the Northwest to North at between 15 to 30 knots . We went in the race as the Blind Bay Yacht Association . Fraser Howell as captain , Robert Fraser and Heinz ( a photographer with B.I.O. ) on the main sheets , Suzanne ( from the South Shore inland , a friend of Heinz ) and Peter Shortt on the jib sheets , and Ed ( Fraser’s buddy from Blind Bay ) as gaff adjuster and bow lookout  . Blind Bay is down around the Shad Bay and Dover area ."

Here are some of impressions from race day (photos by Allan Fraser, Pictou Yacht Club).  For the full story see the newsletter .
